MORE-TEM 2022 Symposium
MORE-TEM 2022 Symposium
Taking place in presence at the University of Vienna, Faculty of Physics, Austria
September 25th - 27th, 2022.
The symposium is dedicated to research on recent advances in energy resolved and spatial or momentum resolved electron energy loss spectroscopy (EELS) and complementary nanospectroscopy.
A major mission of condensed-matter physics is to understand material properties via the knowledge of the energy vs. momentum dispersion and lifetime of fundamental excitations. Recent progress in improving the combined energy & spatial or momentum resolution in electron energy-loss spectroscopy in a (scanning) transmission electron microscope pushes the limits closer to the border of the fundamental limit of Heisenbergs uncertainty principle. In this symposium we will discuss on the state of the art and recent progress made in mapping out the spatial and q-landscape of primary excitations to investigate dispersion and lifetime of phonons, plasmons & excitons in nanomaterials with a few nm of lateral resolution on samples as thin as an atomic monolayer.
